About

Located in an older, yet charming and colorful mall property, Geli's Cafe embraces the spirit of community. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible, with ample parking and facilities to welcome everyone. I love how the owner makes her presence felt, ensuring guests are satisfied and happy. Sit at the counter for a front-row view of the hustle and bustle, or relax in one of the inviting seating areas. The interior bursts with vibrant colors, creating a cheerful and cozy ambiance that invites gatherings of friends and family. On busy Sundays, the place fills up quickly, especially around 11 AM when church-goers flock here for a satisfying meal. But don’t worry; even during rush hour, the attentive staff ensure you’re never left waiting long.

The standout at Geli's Cafe is undoubtedly the food. Patrons rave about the enormous portions, with many recommending the famous chilaquiles and asado. Expect a fast turnaround time, even when the restaurant is busy, thanks to the dedicated staff who skillfully manage high volume. Many reviews note the homemade salsa, a culinary highlight that perfectly complements every dish. The welcoming atmosphere adds to the dining experience—after finishing your meal, the staff often cheerfully thanks you for your visit, making you feel like part of the family.

Most Disliked

While Geli's Cafe offers a delightful dining experience, some guests express concern over the limited seating during peak hours, particularly on Sundays. The crowded situation can make it difficult to find a table right away. Additionally, a few customers noted the noise levels during busy times, which might detract from intimacy in conversation. Some diners also wish for a wider variety of dessert selections, as the menu focuses primarily on savory dishes.

This a women owned restaurant. I noticed her as she was evaluating the room. Making sure all her customers were well taken care of. The room is bright and full of vibrant colors. The wait was quick about 5 minutes. Busy place I came at lunch time before the church rush on a Sunday. I devoured my asado plate. It consist of asado beans country potatoes and two eggs with your choice of flour or corn tortillas. Bread they had also. However bread will not be a part of this delicious Mexican cuisine. My husband had the fish caldo with shrimp with a unique twist it had broccoli 🥦 great addition as it made it more platable to see and eat. The waitress was kind and consistent but not overbearing. Price was very good considering the amount of food on our full plates. Fresh lemonade was my choice of drink as more and more restaurants are going to powdered form an that is not authentic to the cuisine. May I suggest you visit this place is located in and older mall property that's is being renovated as it is being bought out perhaps. Let me encourage you do not pass up this 5* place. Geli will greet you at the door.

This place is amazing. As soon as you walk in the door, everyone welcomes you. They have a great selection of delicious food, and they make their own salsa. The portions were great, and we really enjoyed our selections. When you leave, everyone yells out, "Thanks for visiting." We will definitely eat here again when we return to Roswell.

Holy moly!!! By far, absolutely the best breakfast place I have ever been to! The staff is unbelievably friendly snd helpful. I was there late Sunday morning, the place was packed. We got seats at the counter, our drink order as well as breakfast order was taken very quickly. I assumed it would be a long wait judging by how busy they were.... maybe 15mins and our food came out. The size of the plates are ridiculously large! The amount of food was unmatched by anywhere else. I got the meat platter, pictures here.. perfect, absolutely perfect. Many folks got the chilaquiles , and everyone raved about it! That's what I am getting next. Great folks , great food, please check them out

On a recent trip from Ruidoso Downs to Buchanan Dam, we decided to stop at Geli’s Mexican Restaurant, and it turned out to be a delightful experience. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with great service. Our waitress was attentive and friendly, ensuring we had everything we needed throughout our meal. The restaurant has a warm, inviting atmosphere, which made our dining experience even more enjoyable. We ordered a variety of dishes, including a taco plate, chiles rellenos, queso dip, chips, and salsa. The queso was absolutely wonderful—creamy and flavorful, perfect for dipping the fresh, crispy chips. The salsa was excellent, with a perfect balance of spice and freshness. The taco plate was really good, with each taco packed with well-seasoned meat and fresh toppings. The rice and beans on the side complemented the tacos perfectly. However, the star of the meal was undoubtedly the chiles rellenos. They were the best we've had so far, cooked to perfection with a delicious filling and a perfectly crispy exterior. A charming highlight of our visit was being served sopapillas by a young girl, who we believe is the owner’s daughter. She was about 10 or 12 years old and was incredibly cute and sweet, adding a personal touch to our meal. Overall, our visit to Geli’s was a fantastic experience. The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was welcoming. We will definitely be coming back on our next trip through the area.

My youngest son and I stopped in for breakfast on a Wednesday morning and got seated right away. The server was very friendly and attentive. There was quite a crowd, not many open tables, but it did not allow down the service. Coffee for me and chocolate milk for the boy to start. The coffee was perfect! Not too stout but not weak. A really great cup. I ordered the Machaca (machacado, as I know it) with added proteins for a nice boost. My son ordered the pancakes plate. The food came promptly and one thing I noticed was the salsa. You can always tell the quality of the food in a Mexican restaurant by their salsa. It was fresh, plenty of flavor, and chunky. The machaca was cooked perfectly with a great mixture of savory and heat. The ham too was perfectly done, not overly salty with rich flavor. A great breakfast!

Only one word comes to mind: Phenomenal!! We went for lunch and there were 9 of us at our table. The service was amazing and the food was crazy good! I cannot wait to go back for breakfast.
